Friendship Quotes

A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same.

A friend should be one in whose understanding and virtue we can equally confide, and whose opinion we can value at once for its justness and its sincerity.

A friend to all is a friend to none.

A friendship can weather most things and thrive in thin soil; but it needs a little mulch of letters and phone calls and small, silly presents every so often - just to save it from drying out completely.

A friendship founded on business is better than a business founded on friendship.

A hug is like a boomerang - you get it back right away.

A man’s growth is seen in the successive choirs of his friends.

A single rose can be my garden… a single friend, my world.

A true friend never gets in your way unless you happen to be going down.

An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind.

Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.

But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine.

But friendship is the breathing rose, with sweets in every fold.

Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.

Fear makes strangers of people who would be friends.

Friends and good manners will carry you where money won’t go.

Friends are born, not made.

Friendship and money: oil and water.

Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies.

Friendship is held to be the severest test of character. It is easy, we think, to be loyal to a family and clan, whose blood is in your own veins.

ANGRY BIRDS

The survival of the Angry Birds is at stake. Dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole the Birds’ eggs. Use the unique destructive powers of the Angry Birds to lay waste to the pigs’ fortified castles.

Angry Birds features hours of gameplay, challenging physics-based castle demolition, and lots of replay value. Each of the 120 levels requires logic, skill, and brute force to crush the enemy.

Angry Birds is a puzzle video game developed by Rovio Mobile. Inspired primarily by a sketch of stylized wingless birds, the game was first released for Apple’s iOS in December 2009.[2] Since that time, over 12 million copies of the game have been purchased from Apple’sApp Store,[3] which has prompted the company to design versions for other touchscreen-based smartphones, such as those using theAndroid operating system, among others.

In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield. As players advance through the game, new birds appear, some with special abilities that can be activated by the player. Rovio Mobile has supported Angry Birds with numerous free updates that add additional game content, and the company has even released stand-alone holiday and promotional versions of the game.

Angry Birds has been praised for its successful combination of addictive gameplay, comical style, and low price. Its popularity led to versions of Angry Birds being created for personal computers and gaming consoles, a market for merchandise featuring its characters and even long-term plans for a feature film or television series. With a combined 300 million downloads across all platforms and including both regular and special editions,[4] the game has been called “one of the most mainstream games out right now”,[5] ”one of the great runaway hits of 2010”,[6] and “the largest mobile app success the world has seen so far”.[7]

ANGELS

For other uses, see Angel (disambiguation).”Angelology” redirects here. For the novel, see Angelology (novel).Song of the Angels by Bouguereau, 1825–1905.

Angels are spiritual beings often depicted as messengers of God in the Hebrew and Christian Bibles along with the Quran. The English word angel is derived from the Greek ἄγγελος, a translation of מלאך (mal’akh) in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh); a similar term, ملائكة(Malāīkah), is used in the Qur’an. The Hebrew and Greek words originally mean messenger, and depending on the context may refer either to a human messenger (possibly a prophet or priest, such as Malachi, “my messenger”, but also for more mundane characters, as in the Greek superscription that the Book of Malachi was written “by the hand of his messenger” (ἀγγήλου)) or to a supernatural messenger,[1]such as the “Mal’akh YHWH,” who (depending on interpretation) is either a messenger from God,[2] an aspect of God (such as theLogos),[3] or God Himself as the messenger (the “theophanic angel.”)[1][4]

The term “angel” has also been expanded to various notions of spiritual beings found in many other religious traditions.

Other roles of angels include protecting and guiding human beings, and carrying out God’s tasks.[5]

The theological study of angels is known as angelologyIn art, angels are often depicted with wings; perhaps reflecting the descriptions inRevelation 4:6-8 — of the Four Living Creatures (τὰ τέσσαρα ζῷα) and the descriptions in the Hebrew Bible — of cherubim and seraphim (thechayot in Ezekiel’s Merkabah vision and the Seraphim of Isaiah). However, while cherubim and seraphim have wings in the Bible, no angel is mentioned as having wings.[6]

funny love quotes
“A Poison Tree” by William Blake

I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I watered it in fears,
Night and morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright.
And my foe beheld it shine.
And he knew that it was mine,

And into my garden stole
When the night had veiled the pole;
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretched beneath the tree.

Love

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaFor other uses, see Love (disambiguation).Page semi-protectedArchetypal lovers Romeo and Juliet portrayed by Frank DickseeAn illustration of the unconditional love between a little girl and her dog.

Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.[1] In philosophical context, love is a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection. Love is central to many religions, as in the Christian phrase, “God is love” or Agape in the Canonical gospels.[2] Love may also be described as actions towards others (or oneself) based on compassion, or as actions towards others based on affection.[3]

In English, the word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure (“I loved that meal”) to intenseinterpersonal attraction (“I love my partner”). “Love” can also refer specifically to the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love, to the sexual love of eros (cf. Greek words for love), to the emotional closeness of familial love, or to the platonic love that defines friendship,[4] to the profound oneness or devotion of religious love.[5] This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.

Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.

Helen Fisher defines what could be understood as love as an evolved state of the survival instinct, primarily used to keep human beings together against menaces and to facilitate the continuation of the species through reproduction.[6]
